Research Supporting TAP's Elements
@if>TAP™ was developed based upon scientific research as well as best practices from the fields of education, business and management. The TAP Elements of Success stem from research findings about effective practices in attracting, developing, motivating and retaining the highest quality teachers to the profession, and particularly to high-need schools. The core aspects of TAP are also consistent with best practices in business and industry to develop and motivate employees. These elements are:
- Multiple career paths
- Ongoing applied professional growth
- Instructionally focused accountability
- Performance-based compensation
- Bibliography
The research cited in this section was the basis of TAP. However, during the past decade, additional work has been conducted that continues to support the four elements of the TAP system.

". . . The TAP process places an emphasis on support from master and mentor teachers who come into my classroom to help me implement the strategies we are learning. As I grow professionally, the TAP process assists me in monitoring the strengths and weaknesses of my students and gives me the tools I need to develop strategies so that all of my students are engaged, enriched and successful learners."
