11th National TAP Conference

The 11th National TAP Conference will take place March 11-13, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles, California. The National TAP Conference is a dynamic gathering of TAP practitioners, policymakers and members of districts, states, organizations, foundations and businesses involved with TAP implementation across the country. From education policy plenary panels to breakout and training sessions, the Conference is a powerful venue to learn more about TAP in practice and its role on the national pulse of innovative education reform.
2010 National TAP Summer Institute (TSI)
June 21-23, 2010
InterContinental Hotel
New Orleans, Louisiana
NIET, in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education, held the 2010 National TAP Summer Institute (TSI) in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 21-23, 2010. The intensive training program took place at the InterContinental Hotel.
Attracting hundreds of TAP participants across the country, TSI trains school leadership teams — principals, master and mentor teachers — on how to systematically strengthen the skills and effectiveness of their teaching staff and increase student academic achievement. Session topics include analyzing data, setting school goals, providing rigorous weekly professional development, and effectively observing and coaching teachers' instruction in the classroom.
Since its establishment in 2005, TSI has been highly valuable in meeting the specific needs of TAP schools.
10th National TAP Conference

The 10th National TAP Conference: Leading Innovation through Teacher Effectiveness will be held March 19-21, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The TAP Conference provides an outstanding opportunity for educators, schools, districts and states to learn more about TAP's elements, their practical application and overall impact on improving education. The experience will promote collaboration and sharing among TAP schools, and provide strategies to
strengthen and sustain TAP. It will also offer insights into how TAP aligns with the Teacher Incentive Fund and new federal resources such as the Race to the Top Fund and Investing in Innovation Fund.
9th Annual TAP Conference

The National TAP Conference was held on April 17-19, 2009, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles, California. An informative and inspiring three-day event, 900 top educators, policymakers and other educational experts from across the country gathered to learn more about TAP's leadership in comprehensive school reform. In addition, TAP teachers, administrators, districts, policymakers and other TAP partners shared their experiences firsthand of the system's implementation in practice.
4th Annual TAP™ Summer Institute (TSI) 2008
Six states will hold NIET-sponsored sessions of the TAP Summer Institute (TSI) this year: Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Illinois and Minnesota. Established in 2005, TSI is a highly valuable TAP intensive training program to meet the specific needs of TAP schools. It attracts hundreds of TAP members throughout the country.

The 8th Annual TAP Conference was held March 28-30, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. The conference provided an opportunity for states, districts and schools to learn more about TAP, both its elements and how to put them into practice.
3rd Annual TAP™ Summer Institute (TSI) 2007
Six states hosted sessions of TSI this year—Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Minnesota, South Carolina and Texas—attracting hundreds of TAP members throughout the country over the summer.
TSI was established in 2005 as an intensive training program to meet the specific needs of TAP schools across the country.
